    Building date: 1856

    Original use: Winfield District No. 9 Schoolhouse

    Corner structures: Variable, elongated horizontally. Quoins of gray limestone that are variable in length and height.

    Mortar application and content: Scored. Vertical no embellishment. Stones are embedded in mortar which is depressed immediately around the stones and crudely marked, so that the stones appear to be in square boxes. On the right side wall, the point of a trowel was apparently used to mark horizontal and vertical lines between stones. It seems apparent that at least two masons, or masons from two schools, were involved in the construction.

    Types and uses of stones: Irregular rough. Stones are moderate in size, of varying color, and some are smooth mixed with a majority of rough and irregular.

    Types and choice of windows: Door and window lintels are made of gray limestone.

    The former one story schoolhouse on Wall St, Cedarville, has quoins of gray limestone that are variable in length and height. Door and window lintels are made of the same type of stone.
